The rider is Ben Hall from Watsonian. I’m in the chair being given instruction on how to handle a sidecar outfit, otherwise known as an elderly gentleman’s touring device. Takes a bit of getting used to as until you get used to it it has a tendency to wander off and, unlike Magnet’s old Canam steering left and right need different inputs.

Bike’s a Guardia d’Onore sourced from Steve’s second home, Teesdales, and Ben and his team have custom made a frame for the sidecar.

One of today’s job’s is a bit of weather proofing starting with Techcote ACS. Unfortunately the bashplate has had to go to accommodate the fitting so I think we my need to either butcher it to fit or find an alternative. I have put a mudguard thingy on to limit the shit flying but this bike would not suit the Caponard mudguard. Suggestions on a postcard.IMG_2848.jpeg

Did you buy the bike new or used Tony?

It was new. It had been on their website for quite a while and I’d been keeping an eye on it. When I decided to go down the sidecar route it seemed the perfect solution. I missed the old V85tt. Ben agrees with me on the suitability for the job, tells me the Watsonian crew were quite smitten with it.
