can't necessarily help you identifying particular seals but i did have an 1150 which had been over filled with engine oil. once the excess oil was (worringly) forced out through the rear shaft the problem never returned. therefore i suggest you check the oil level and reduce it if required. apologies for my amateur mechanics. hope it works out.

Sorry, but that is utterly impossible. There is a clutch and gearbox in between the two. Engine oil cannot be forced out through the shaft.

Is the oil coming from the gaiter at the bottom of the shaft housing or the outside seal of the bevel box itself? If it's coming out of the gaiter, it could be the back gearbox seal which is leaking or the input seal of the bevel box. Pull the gaiter back and give everything a good clean out and see where it is coming from.

Just as an afterthought: if you pressure-wash the bike frequently, this can force water past the gaiter and drip out as a greasy-black liquid which looks like the seal has gone.

You'll need to be more specific about the leak. However it is quite common for oil to leak from two places on the bevel drive, first place is the speedo sensor where an 'o' ring failure can let oil out onto the rear disc and back wheel. second place is the outer bevel drive seal, you'll know if its this one as you'll see oil running down the bevel drive...and perhaps dripping on the back wheel. Both of these are cheap and easy to fix.....unless bevel drive outer seal is leaking because of too much free play in your rear wheel bearing!!!
