Trans-Penines

Heading for Merseyside tomorrow in the car, so I need to cross the Penines somewhere.
I'd usually go via Hartside to break the monotony.
Anyone know how it is at the moment.
Considered the A66, but that has it's moments - Heard the gates where shut the other day?

...or play safe and use the A69

You could use the A66 to Brough then through kirkby Stephen to the M6

Highways site says all routes are okay, but the A66, as you suggest is quickest - Got to get there for opening time.

News this morning... the A66 was open
