Transfer of ownership?

Dear GPS guru's

I've just agreed purchase of a Garmin 2720 from a member on here.
Can anyone tell me what the original owner and I have to do to transfer ownership with Garmin so that I can register as the 'owner' and receive updates etc? I have searched and I believe that it can be done with 'MyGarmin'? However I'm new to Garmin GPS and am clueless as to what MyGarmin is and exactly what's required.

Your best bet is for the original owner to ring garmin and explain that he has sold it to you and then all should be plain sailing
