Transferring Blackberry contacts to Android now Google sync withdrawn

If you've got a gmail account can you sync your bb contacts with that? Or export the contacts as a Vcard/vcf file and upload that to gmail contacts? Android can easily sync gmail contacts.

1st point.. sadly you can't anymore as Google has pulled the sync app for BB, hence the question & yes I have a Google account.:tears

2nnd point.. this is where I need assistance as to the best way to do something like this. Preferably with a bit of software that will do it all for me.

I have an old bb but not used it for ages so someone else can chime in here if I'm wrong.

There will be an option to export All Contacts. This will be the vCard file. You'll need to save it to a memory card to transfer to a pc or email it to yourself. On the pc, go into your gmail account, contacts, more options, import, choose file, import. Once sorted, on your android phone just set the gmail contacts option to sync with the phone.

All of the above is after the influence of a large gin and tonic and half a bottle of Argie Syrah so may not be completely accurate..... :thumb

They have only withdrawn support for BB google sync, mine still works and auto syncs on a daily basis. Might be worth a try and can still be downloaded to the phone here http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en_uk/mobile/sync/

Have a look here too http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/...nisa.apps.common.BaseViewedDocsListHelperImpl

Unfortunately 1st method you suggest, the app download has been removed hence the question.

Your second suggestion my phone is already set to do, & I'm so thick that I hadnt found it has actually transferred them all YIPEE!!:clap

I was just looking in the wrong place cos I'm a wally:blast

Thanks :thumb
