Transferring camera pics to Nexus 7 tablet

Thinking of getting a Nexus 7 to save space when traveling but concerned how to get pics directly from my camera, a Lumix TZ40, onto it ... the camera has a wifi facility but wondered if there was another method ...

Any help appreciated ..

an Eye-Fi memory card in your camera wirelessly sends the photos from your camera to nexus 7, I have one in my Fuji camera and it works a treat

Is the wifi transfer a long process i.e. as quick as cable connection ?

btw I got a Nexus 10 in the end ...

I use one of those USB connectors. You need to download some freebie software but it's all pretty straight forward. Then just plug a standard SD/USB wotzit.

The transfer is started when your camera is switched on and the nexus is switched on near each other, it is longer than cable but it sends the info then the nexus sorts out the photos its not instant photos, but its not that long in time.

I haven't had a chance to test it yet as only got the bike back from ABW today and was wazzin about a bit, first time for more than a year, and just finished fitting the Zumo tonight ...
