Transferring music from one iPod Touch to another?

I have an 3rd Generation Touch with lots of music and want to shift it to a later model. Am wondering if I can use my iPad as an itermediary, or is there an easier way - without using iTunes?

Ha ha, are you having us on.... you can save the music with music rescue, IIRC but as to putting it on another I-Device I no longer know or care. Best of Luck

Why would you want to do it without iTunes, which is by far the easiest way??
