I wish to travel through Jordan, Syria and Turkey from Saudi Arabia on my way back to the UK on the 1150GSA and cross by ferry from CESME' to Brindisi.

Can UK passport holders get transit visas at these borders or must it be from the embassies? Do I need a Carnet for these countries.

Last time riding in Jordan on a trip in 2004, was straightforward.

Are there any UK insurance companies that would insure bikes on foreign export plates as I have a UK address for such a trip?

The bike would be left in the UK.

No visa problems for the part through Turkey. Just show up at the border with a U.K passport. Do check for the other countries.
I would try and book the ferry tickets asap though, cesme-brindisi is a very popular crossing in these parts, especially this time of the year.
A carnet would be required not just in Turkey but all the other countries too, i would imagine.
