Health Insurance while riding a motorcycle, quote from a current policy
Policy states :
General Exclusions (The Heading )
Any claim that results from any insured person:
Using a motorcycle, scooter, moped or quad bike unless wearing a crash helmet.

Does this mean :
1)all are excluded unless wearing a crash helmet, in which case wearing a crash helmet permits the insurance for these motorcycles ?
2)Motorcycles, scooters , mopeds and quad bikes are excluded from the insurance , but quad bikes are permitted if wearing a crash helmet ?

And another one:
Exclusions:
Any claim as a result of you using a motorcycle. If:
The vehicle is above 125cc and you did not use it to travel from your home area

Does this mean
3) If I ride my big bike, over 125cc from my home area, then I am covered?
4) My big bike is over 125cc and is not covered ?

Which numbers are correct ?

Much debate going on with interest on which interpretations are correct. Thank y'all

Yes, you can ride your own bike of any size as long as you wear a helmet and you rode it from home

You can ride any machine under 125cc as long as you wear a helmet including hired machines

You cannot ride a hired machine over 125cc

I’ll add another one and all worded on current policies ;

Included Activities
You are covered to do the activities below on your trip.
Motorcycling (up to 125cc, crash helmet must be worn, and you must have a valid UK licence to ride the vehicle,
no cover under Personal Liability)

Does this mean
5) all Motorcycling is permitted
6)Motorcycling only up to 125 cc is permitted wearing a crash helmet

Nat West Black and NatWest Platinum cover is ambiguously worded and today after many phone calls , their Allianz team verbally confirmed that no cover above 125cc
( FYI Their Black wording
Not covered for any claim as a result of ;
If the vehicle is above 125cc, and it is not your mode of transport from your home area)

Furthermore , also today , Staysure verbally, “No cover above 125cc”

BEWARE GS’ers

FFS, just go to Tesco, Puffin or Allclear as recommended in other threads and you will not have any of this frustration

Don’t be an arse Wessie “FFS”.. this is a big mistake to make if you’re relying on Nat West Bank, as just one example . Read the small print !

I’ve scanned Tesco and all clear and seems good ( but make your own decision )

See my post about “PRIMARY MEANS OF TRANSPORT”.
The bike is covered in exactly the same way your car would be.
