So finally got round to rebuilding gearbox on 1150gs after replacing input shaft. I thought it had all gone too smoothly...

After replacing the case I can turn the input shaft and get output at the other end, however I cannot work through any gears, there's no movement from whatever gear it's in.

I'm guessing I should be able to move thorough them on the bench? The box is dry as haven't refilled it yet. Trying to avoid cracking it open again!

You won't easily shift thru the gears unless you have an assistant hold the output shaft and apply some resistance to turning while you turn the input shaft and operate the selector.
