Anyone know of a company doing a db program for transport companies...

Needs to

Store client information.
Store quotes/offers 5000 per year
Be able to convert Quotes to jobs for follow through and delivery....

Be able to be used by ten users at the same time....

Trying to help a friend here, MS Access won't be good enough, but at the same time its not exactly rocket science....

quick books will do all that it's an accounts tool all you need to do is buy the extra licenses.

program costs from £100 to £400 depending to which level you need plus whatever the licenses are.

it does quotes, holds stock, resources, out sourced contract info if you buy services on a regular basis, customer details, print delivery notes etc.

you can drill into a job to see how much a job made etc. takes CC payments if need be via it's own portal

We've used it for 10+ years now every version is better.

plus it does your accounts

Just been reading their site info, will follow up on it, handy too as they have a french version:augie They do the accounts with something else BTW. But that does not mean it aint right. Looking for a solution for the next two to three years max...

Thank you for the pointer, any others....

Have a look at Microsoft Office Accounting.

There are two versions - one of them is completely free - the other ....... a couple of hundred ££.

You can have a play with the free version (fully functional) - and see what you think.

Ta for that,

Just in case....

They already have a billing system they want a Client db and follow up of quotes and jobs.... I know that what you have both suggested is good for that too just being clear...:thumb

I have to find out how easy the importation of their existing data will be....
