Trying to plan a trip for next year in June.
A number of years ago there was a guy in Belfast loaded bikes onto a curtain side lorry, you caught a flight and met you in Bordeaux or Geneva.
Sadly cancer caught up with him and a crackin spud he was.
It was great because it worked out about the same expense as riding down, but meant that you had more time on the bike, in an area you wanted to get to.
Does anyone know of somebody doing similar transport from Ireland?

this

if you have the time to bimble down through france

even from here its worth the trip to gorey

but rosslare bilbao the one you want surely

Roslare to Bilbao is a lovely trip and you can get straight into the hills within 15 minutes off the boat.

That was Andy Bolton, great guy and sadly missed. I did 4 trips with him - Geneva twice and Bordeaux twice. He parked the trucks at a hotel and once unloaded you buggered off for a week then back to the trucks. I've used Overlanders to Germany twice - paid for a one-way trip and rode the bike home through Germany or France. For a few quid extra, they picked up the bike from McCallen's in Lisburn, not sure if they still do that?

Overlanders operate from the south east, bike dropped to them and collected after the event, two days used if living far away. Rossalare to Bilbao is a great inexpensive way to Spain. Only recently discovered it, no more crossing the uk for me.
