I have started you a fresh thread.

Richard

Been a long slog , involving unresponded NatWest emails , but today ‘their Allianz ‘ advisor tells me that I have no motorcycle injury cover, in Europe, , if the bike is over 125cc
That’s definitive and clear
So can anyone recommend injury cover to me for a Europe motorcycle trip ?

I used Tesco travel insurance for the last 2 years. They cover over 125cc (or at least they did when I renewed the policy last month).

I’ve just tried Staysure , to be told motorcycles over 125cc not covered
I’ve just completed Voyager motorcycle online form and downloaded their policy document to see ‘not covered for claims resulting from motorcycling ‘

Is this going to be a minefield ?
P.s. this is motorcycling touring health insurance so maybe wrong thread

go to the Travel insurance folder that contains this thread. There are dozens of recommendations including a thread that I started recently

Legally - you have exactly the same coverage as if you were driving your own car.
The phrase is "primary means of transport ".
As long as you own it, its the same.
Go back to them - that comes directly from a senior insurance specialist in the travel insurance industry.
Something they would rather you not know about.

Got a name, mate?

Direct Travel insurance cover the cc your licenced to.

Myself and my wife have an annual travel insurance policy with Directline. In the past we’ve sought additional travel insurance for our bike trips. Having recently looked at the policy we have with them we came across this statement in exclusions. We called direct line and spoke to an advisor.
She agreed that this does in fact cover us to travel on a motorcycle as long as it’s my bike, and im licensed to ride it.

Of course we did get her to confirm the conversation by email.

We have travel insurance via our bank account, my old work scheme and a separate health insurance for travelling and in the past all covered motorcycling but since last year all of them now specifically do not give health cover when riding a motorcycle.
Will have to take out CN policy before my trip

on the Voyager site....

Similarly, you may have found other policies restrict the duration of your motorbike tour. Well, here at Voyager Plus, we can cover your Motorcycle tour for up to 62 consecutive days with our Action Plus cover option, or up to 31 consecutive days on our Standard policy!

Checked Tesco and they definitely cover you for riding your own bike over 125

Thank you for contacting us.
As per the policy wording, you will be covered as standard for driving motorised vehicles (excluding Quad bikes) for which you are licensed to drive in the United Kingdom (other than in motor rallies or competitions) and wearing a helmet if driving a motorbike, moped or scooter.

I have used "Navigator" insurance. Signed up today for a trip in india. They def do over 125 cc stuff

2023/2024 Voyager Policy , Page 15, under heading Personal Accident , very clearly says you are not covered for claims resulting from motorcycling .

Perhaps the mentioned action plus cover , overrides this ? Take great care which policy you have.

Natwest (Allianz) Black, Silver and Platinum Travel Insurance; 12th June 2024 confirmation email re motorcycles over 125cc:

But, according to that you're not covered if you didn’t ride the motorcycle from the UK (for example, if you stick a motorcycle (>125cc) in the back of your MH and then drive the MH to the continent).
