travel insurance?

insurance

cant remember the exact name of the policy/company but HCtravel sold me a holiday/travel policy that covered you worl wide. it was the only one i could find at the time as lots of travel insurance excludes motorbikes over 125cc.
i went to tb2 and south america with it. think it cost about £150 for 12 months.

Main thing is do they cover bikes over 125cc, the one we use all the time is Marks and Spencers own. Never had to use it but dont go for cheap you will pay in the end.

TravelCover

These folk : http://www.travelcover.co.uk/. Cover for big bikes, and having used them following a serious accident in Slovakia, from which we needed repatriating in a private jet accompanied by a dedicated medical team (doctor and nurse), all of which was arranged without fuss, I would recommend them.

As with all insurance, I hope you don't need it, but if you do, it's nice to know it works. This does. :thumb

Can only suggest you read the small print for a)covered for bike riding and b)number of days you are allowed to be away. This can be as low as 30 so not much good for a long trip. 45 and 60 are available but if you want to be away for 3 months you may have to buy a single trip policy rather than annual cover.

PJ Hayman have not been bad in the past. You can also us www.gocompare.co or www.confused.com or one of those services but DO read the small print.

talk to carol nash or MSL tours you can buy insurance off them independant of doing any tours with them

We've always been happy with www.direct-travel.co.uk

European 30 day cover from £46 per couple up to 62 days worldwide for a bit more. Mrs H-T and I have never needed their services but the old fella' has and he got Rolls Royce treatment. He had a bit of a scare last year and got flown home with a nurse to accompany him. They laid on taxis for my mum to visit him in hospital before he was repatriated too.

They are happy to cover bikers if you're riding a bike OVER 125cc.

Thanks for that, off to Americal for a bike rally in June... :Motomartin

Which one? Roynie and I are doing the Mother Road Rally (Route 66) - June 13th - 20th. :thumb

We are away for 8 weeks with our own bikes. Shipping, US bike insurance and holiday insurance all arranged by HC Travel. I did also get a quote from Harrison Beaumont, who have a specialist "Adventure" policy for hazardous activities (they covered us for Personal Accident when we did the BMW Off-Road Skills course in Wales). For the duration of the trip and level of cover, HC Travel were slightly more competitive.
