Travelling to Nancy, suggestions accepted :-)

I'm off back home to Italy for vacation next Sat.

As I did last year, I'll be "solo" most of the trip (peace of mind), meeting some friends probably in some Switzerland mountain passes or reaching Milan.

I'm planning to follow the same route and TomTom tracks I built last year... I'm going through the french itineraries that Wapping, but I'm also open to any suggestions for the french leg of my trip, since the first part from Arras/Cambrai to Verdan was a bit dull.

If you are heading for Basel you could go a bit further east and plot a route down through Belgium, Lux & the Black Forest.

There aren't many interesting roads on a fairly direct route to Nancy from Calais. The D9 road from Reims to Chalon sur Champagne over the mountain is good, but only a short relief from the tedium.

When I'm visiting my friend in Alsace I try to get to Nancy ASAP to give me longer to play in the mountains to the south.
