The Harley was, well looking a little shabby following the Winter, TBH it was a bit scabby when i bought it....... so over the Easter Holidays i treated it to new tyres and a full fluid change, the transmission oil was so gungy it had to be tempted out with a heat gun.......even had the brake fluid changed..... Then i removed all the obvious tat (still more to come off!!!) and set about with the Gunk/Muc Off/Pressure Washer..... then black polish/chrome polish and a lot of work with a toothbrush............now its ready for phase 2!

Very nice... :thumb2

With 'Glides I would certainly say 'Less is More' :clap

i agree..... the next job is to simplfy the front mudguard .... chrome bumpers are going and maybe a fat-boy mudguard!..... ala Street Glide..

I'm getting the seat recovered in simple black leather....also rear bumpers and crash bars in black powder coat!.... along with the wheels (like yours)

i'd like to remove the front ones, (Crash Bars) but the cruise pegs are a requirement for my long legs....... a local engineering firm is modifying the brake and shift lever to sit much further forward...... a local MOT station is also involved!!... ( All Mates!!!, i've allready moved the boards forward with the help of "Wild Bills" foot board "relocators"......Arkansas!!...) hopefully that mod will be done before Le HOG.... i may get the screen tinted black as well!......

The engine and zorst will have to stay chrome until i can afford/justify the strip down and de-chrome..... i just want bare aluminium with heat wrapped headers and black silencers...... i would also like to change the airfilter to an S&S style cover......

i was going Matt Black for the bodywork, but have decided on Gloss, with raised HD logo's on the tank.. ( Ala Street Bob.) but that too will need to wait till the stripdown.... maybe next winter!... Thats it then job done!:thumb2

That all sounds really cool... Definitely agree that gloss Vivid Black is the way to go; these matt finishes are a bit corny now :augie I would choose a genuine HD decal on the tank, rather than badges, there have been some beautiful ones used over the years... :thumb2

The corbin seat i got from the usa (£140) has tassels on it (which get stuck under the pannier lids and dangle in the oil tank when i check the level). .

Now, i was intending to cut them off. But i'm having second thoughts as i enjoy the feeling of them flailing my bollox in the wind as i ride along in my shorts.

It's a huge improvement over the standard seat that was fitted. It's meant to fit 1992-96 years, which is the model after mine, but at the price i paid on ebay it was worth a punt.
It fitted straight on, the front just needed to learn how to fit properly, no special tools required :D.

A Sack Slapper! Is that anything like a tank slapper? :D

They'll also help break up the air vortices as you travel at speed and keep the flies off :thumb2
