Many thanks to DaveG and his shed (and for doing all the work really:beerjug:)....

BMW Wheel Set Up by mfredriksen, on Flickr

20mm stainless bar, a few R pins, a few 20mm plate washers, and a bespoke wooden plug that Dave did for the rear wheel.

Now for a new set of Karoos and ready for action.

See it for real at Sweet Lamb 1st April for first round of the BBRC, and the long slog to Magnon's trail riding extravaganza in France in the summer..

If you tip the bike right back it will stand up all by itself making it very easy to clean the underneath of your bike now :thumb2.... only drawback with this design is all your petrol will drain out :blast

Good for wheelies too as the wheels are free to spin....

Not actually tested that feature yet tho'.

Tent and sleeping bag goes in a Dry Sac between wheels, rest in soft throwovers on tank.

All yet to be tested mind....

Amusing !!!! Good effort !!!!

Is it really necessary though? Only asking as have ridden from London to the Spanish Pyrenees on new TKC80's, done 4 days of hooning around off road not giving a feck about the tyres before riding back to London. By the time I got home, the rear was arguably legal but the front had plenty of life left in it though. Have done this twice now (but not on same set of tyres). BTW - was tanking it on the motorway's but keeping speed down to a ton (the max rated speed of the tyres).

ATB
Mike.
