there is always a few popping up for sale on here. id recommend an optimate 4.

BMW do their own version which you can plug into the auxiliary circuit. A little pricier than alternatives but I bought one for the convenience and because my old optimate was years out of date and I had meant to replace it anyway as newer ones have more sophisticated diagnosis circuits and battery self recovery/conditioning modes. For a non BMW one you can just fix the leads for the adaptor direct to the battery and run to a convenient place tucked in behind the battery cover.
