Trip Meter Behaviour

Both Trip I & II will only go to 999 and then reset to 0.
Is this normal, or has anyone seen their trip meters go beyond 999 ???

I have never let mine run that far - but 999 doesn't seem unreasonable.

Mine does the same so I think it's normal.

yah, 999 is as far as they go - which I think is p00 - especially on a long-distance-bike like the GS. Are we supposed to stick to rides shorter than 999 miles (or even worse 999km)...
