Trip reading on GS1150

Any one had odd readings on the trip meter.
I was in Pau at the week-end .my chum on a Honda was always getting different trip readings, having zeroed the trip on both bikes there was always 10% difference in the readings, both bikes on original sized tyres. ?
Any thoughts?

They all do that sir... Get the bit off the R1100R and its sorted...

As Richie says, get the speedo drive from the R1100R and it will bring the over read down from 8-10% to about 2%.
