My partner and I have just booked a couple of weeks in the states, starting on the 14th July. All very last minute. We're flying into and out of San Fransisco. So far, we've got three nights booked in SF and another three in Yosemite.

Las Vegas, Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelly all look way too hot in late July, so we're thinking of heading northwards from Yosemite from the 20th and need to be back in SF for our flight home on the 28th.

Any thoughts/advice on where to go and what to see would be great. Thanks for any help :thumb2

It was very cool, mate. We decided in the end to go from Yosemite over to Gull lake, then down to Kernville, up into the Sequoia National Forest, out to San Diego, Del Mar, Palm Desert, St Louis Obispo and up Highway 1 to SF. One of the best things we did was to hire a Harley Street Glide from Eagle Rider in Palm Springs. We rode up to a place called Idyllwild (I think) and then out to Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneer Town for food and drink. A guy who used to be the manager of Eagle Rider Palm Springs offered to be our guide for the day for $40 + gas + lunch. He is a really, really nice guy and knows the area like the back of his hand. Money well spent. His name is Will Huffor and if ever you're out that way on a bike, you can contact him at this email address: [email protected]

The funny thing was we were worried about the heat in some of the places we were going to visit, like Monument Valley. In the valley at Palm Desert, it was 107 degrees :blast
