Earlier this week I rode across to Scunthorpe to have several Cymarc parts fitted to my new GSA by Mark Hooton.

Firstly Mark was keen for me to let those who know him that he sends his best regards to you all, apologises for not getting on here much nowadays and to say he’s always free to take a phone call for a catch up.

He has a great collection of personal bikes, GS, GSA, R Nine T, GPZ400 and it was interesting chatting to him about their individual characteristics. He’s going touring to Spain & France in the next couple of weeks, should have asked which bike he’s taking but didn’t. Doh!

It was from this forum that I had first read about the Cymarc parts and I ordered them in readiness for my bike arriving. I had prompt service & help from Shelly that works with Mark on phone and e-mails answering my questions and without any asking on my part they did me a deal on the price which was then topped off with taking up the option to have them fitted by Mark.

A blustery ride across the Pennines to arrive with Mark for 8.00am, as blustery back though with noticeably less screen wobble with the fitted screen brackets. Both on arrival and throughout my morning, I was well looked after by Mrs H with cups of tea & sandwiches, cheers to you Mrs H.

A couple of things had to be tweaked to fit and I have to say Mark is quite the perfectionist in ensuring that everything is ‘bob on’, changing certain screws to ensure exactness of screw length for optimum and precise fit. A couple of ‘fitments’ had altered slightly on my newer bike around the Screen/Sat Nav brackets, Mark spotted this and adapted accordingly.

All in all it took Mark around three hours to fit the parts, (probably would have taken me three days!!) albeit with the ACDC background music, conversation and frequent cuppa’s this time soon passed.

Mark does like his Red Wines, so I took him a couple of bottles in appreciation of doing the fitting. He said I will now be his favourite UKGS ER though he looks forward to someone taking him three bottles to inherit that title!

He texted me later that night –
“Mate, awesome wine, first bottle gone, many thanks, hope u got back ok”

A great morning spent with Mark and I am very pleased with the results.

Mark, Mrs H, Shelly, my thanks to each of you, :beerjug:

Regards Jonno

Circlip on Screen used to work loose and the pin would drop out. Marks GSA has the pin exposed, my GSA the pin is covered by the screen bracket.

A few more images with the all important lubricant required for a successful fit!

I was holding the torch until the battery went so Mark then had a light headed moment or two!

Lowered Seat Bobbins

Images of the Lowered Seat Bobbins.

Sat on the bike previously the top half of the '6' on the Rev Counter was concealed by the Sat-Nav, now I can see the whole of the '6' as a result of the lowered seat.

+1 Mark is one of the good guys on here, pity he does not have much time to spend on here these days.

For the sake of accuracy

1. Its a GPz1100 (that's me in the photo on it when I was a kid/Tom Cruise lookalike :D)

2. You missed out the F800Adv

3. I did the second bottle shortly after the first (can`t help myself) and nearly threw up :barf taking the dog out the next morning.

To all, ride safe - I miss you all, especially Nuts :D

I miss you too, Mark.:kissy2

Was thinking of you the other day, whilst drinking a bottle of red.:D Are you coming to the Hograost this year?

I miss you more-er Nuts :D

Mrs Nuts also thinking of me, eh, cheesy boy?

Anyway and seriously fella, I had every intention to go to the H/Roast and meet up with the lads, you, Garfield, Keith Bouncer etc etc but it was the ONLY time I had to go on the family holiday. bearing in mind I`m off to Spain soon I really had no choice. I`m back in time for `Dent` but I guess not that many will be going this side of the water? Work and health will determine if I get to that.

I may get to one of our bashes but I don`t know - I`m guest of honour (would you believe, each year. Turn up, get fekkin hammered, talk bollocks - no change there then) with the UK V Strom lads (good bunch of lads for sure but they drink like fags/Keith Bouncer :D) and I don`t know if I will even get to that.

Without getting all teary I am really struggling now. Thinking that the osteoarthritis was all `The Great Wine Maker in the Sky` could throw at me boy was I amazed with the bloody sodding ticker issue ffs. But I`m much luckier than most, happy about it and still stood up sniffing the oxygen.

Consequently I`m resigned to rare trips out and even rarer (but fekk off enjoyable) part fits to the lads bikes (as done on this thread).

But anyway, I hope all the lads are ok ( - we haven`t lost any of the good `uns have we?) and for sure one day I will catch up with you all.

My love to Mrs Nuts (boy, will she know what you mean) and ride safe :D

Sorry to hear you're not on full form mate. If I'm passing your way, I'll give you a shout, and you can fit some free stuff to my bike!:P It'll be very therapeutic for you!:D

A few images of the Auxiliary Light Protectors, Rear Crud Catcher, & Radiator Guards I missed posting earlier.

I already have the low seat, how much lower do Mark's bobbins take the seat?

Marc, sorry to hear you are having a few issues mate, all the best and hope you get sorted. :beerjug:

Hope your health is stable/improving Mark, and as always, it'd be great to see you @ a do. I'm going to Dent as well.....if I get away from my mates house @ a decent time (Stamford, Lincs) on the Friday, we could always stop off @ your gaff if it's not too far off the journey to Dentsville.....:P
