Hi All

Is anyone able to point me in the direction of where I can get some spray paint to repair a scratch to the rocker cover of my 1200 GSA?

I understand BMW class it as colour mix code M963 (granite grey), but it's apparently not available from BMW.

Any suggestions for a close match, or where I might get the actual stuff.

Thanks in advance - Guy

I damaged a rocker cover, fitted a used replacement that I'd painted to match the other side. I now have a crinkle finish rocker cover.

The even bigger problem is that getting off the crap I used will also remove the stuff BMW had used. Saying that, the BMW paint was badly crazed so who knows if that had been overheated or just aged.

You can get Granite Grey 933 from eBay but it's not a wonderful match, at least it wasn't on my Rallye which, I think, has the same colour rocker covers. Ford Nimbus Grey is pretty close, just a bit light. I found rattle can paint was ok but it does soften when hot so if you have rocker cover protectors that have a hard contact to the cover they might mark the paintwork. Mine marked from pads used by the ferry crew when tying down my bike.

halfords rover gunmetal grey -done both after they got marked-the original paint is very thin and wet anddry makes it easy -also put a layer of laquer and looks brill on my triple black

Thanks folks. Tempted by Nutty's recommendation to go black (would that make it a quadruple black??? :augie ), or the gunmetal.

I used Halfords car wheel paint which was close enough (can't see both sides of the bike at the same time).
It was allowed to fully cure but it can't cope with normal running temperature.

have done 4k since painting them and still sound so should be ok me thinks -they shouldnt need doing thou at a low miles
