Triple black ?

Sorry if this isn't a highly technical question but sitting in vines waiting for the exhaust widget to be replaced and I have a question for TB owners. The frame and final drive appear to be a titanium grey colour - why is the bike called triple black

Snappier name than calling it " Gloss black, with the odd bit of satin black and a hint of titanium grey'

Anyway the widgets been replaced under warranty - runs out end of march for me. I asked to make a contribution to get 2 years on the new part but they wanted 50% payment - so I said no thanks.

Asked what could be done to stop it squeaking again in 2 years and the mechanics given it a squirt with a gt85 type spray - said should do that periodically.

This might be a worthwhile precautionary job even if you don't have a problem as the claiM was around £300 with labour

He claimed they aren't lubricated out of the factory which is why they go/ squeak and this should prevent it happening again - typical BMW story

Exhaust widget

I've got one of these widgets a.k.a. a flap. I don't know what it does though, I heard some blurb that it opens up and a set number of revs and helps something do something or something like that. To be fair I'm not really bothered providing it doesn't break out of warranty and end up costing me a load of dosh.

I thought it would be blacker and find that name a bit misleading.

'Double Black' works better IMO. FFS it's got a silver/ grey rear end. I'm not knocking it but it's not the Rat Bike I was expecting.

Also the 30 year jobby has the same grey final drive. Why isn't it red to match the frame

Because 3 parts of the bike are compulsory Black on this special bike

and sound's more catchy than quad black or quintuplet Black

the thing on the hot pipe bit makes the wizzy bit wiz more with added spin i have heard there is a new model on the way called" blacker then a black thing thats really black" god i want one already.
also for you teck guys out there will my bike run better/blacker if i replace the spark plugs with susages/bratwursts?
i love owning a 1200 we are village idiots of the site nobody likes us and we dont care, i used too have a kh250 it was green not black.
right now i am off to paint my garage BLACK love and peace i love you all except people with beards(need a sub forum for those weirdos)
