I dropped my Tiger1050 off for a service at MCS in Renfrew today took the new Triumph Thunderbird for the day as a loan bike. It was really rather good, torquey, powerful engine, decent handling and powerful brakes. The riding position was just right for me and I managed over 200 miles today without any aches and pains. The only criticism I can think of is the engine is a little lacking in character compared to a Harley

An addition to come or a replacement?:D

How about a run out in the near future?

It was just a loaner for the day, no changes for a while:D

Run sounds good:thumb2

I must remember to collect my gin as well:blast

Try a REAL T bird Andy, the triple TBS. Its not as as good a bike as my GS but full of Character!

I agree with Mutley,it's a minger.
I like the shape of the tank but they've spoilt that with the stupid tear-drop shaped speedo console. The cylinder block looks in proportion to the tank so that's O.K. but the rest of the panels/covers/seat/bars and the ridiculous silencer.............yuk.
I'd say it would be ridden by the sort of chap that buys imitation Timberland boots from Matalan. 'nuff said.

I must admit I quite enjoyed it.
Looks are a very personal thing anyway but I reckon given the Night Rod treatment ie blacked out and bikini fairing with a set of short pipes it wouldn't look too bad.
I'm thinking of a Victory next year to run alongside the Street Glide so I'll use the Thunderbird test ride as a benchmark

I quite like the look of it

Certainly something to add to the test ride list, along with a Rocket III, Street Glide, Dyna Glide, Suzi M1800R...etc

:augie

:D

It looks sort of OK but I think i'd be embarrased to ride it, if you want a factory custom buy a Harley:thumb2
