iam to tour down through spain in spring next year, and was wondering can any one recomend a pair of textile trousers that will be water proof and yet cool enough for me to ride in the spanish sun shine, the only thing i have found so far are the latest dainese gortex trousers that have a removable liner and retail at about £180, any one know if there any good?
ps been a tight yorkshire man i dont want to spend more than about 250 squid!!

HG do a pair of lightweight troos (similar to the old Tureg suit) with zip-off legs. I dosed mine in Nikwax and used them during the summer with no problems. OK, in heavy rain they let a wee bit though at the zips and so on, but if you're riding in high temperatures it's actually quite a pleasent way too cool down a bit. :thumb

Got the mid price Gericke LC3 trousers (£140). Waterproof with the liner in, and cool without. But, and it is a big but, if the day starts off dry and then turns to rain you have to stop and take the trousers off to get the bloody liner in :spitfire . You might want to consider just finding some cool 'trollies' and getting a waterproof oversuit, or go with Wizards suggestion.:thumb

got them myself a couple month back. Awesome.

Cost £130 at M&S Newcastle, 'cause I played the, oh I might just check out these as well...' line.

Thanks for the info; I shall have a New Year shopping trip to look at all the recommended options:bounce1

Have a look at

http://www.jofama.se/motorcycle_wear/

Then go to the Halvarssons section and check out the Cobra pants. Waterproof and CE armoured. The outlast lining is effective and is removable when the conditions are very warm. They are allso vented with waterproof zips. I am more than happy with mine.

A simple answer is a pair of armoured Airtex trousers of which there are quite a few available from the likes of Frank Thomas etc at this time of year and then get down to Millets for a pair of their waterproof overtrousers (£17) = job done and no more taking your kit off to put in a liner!:)
