As most of you know, we have regular trail riding weekends in North Wales, using a super bunkhouse just outside Dolgellau.
Received a call from them, asking about my bulk booking for the 19th June. I haven't made one. They are clear that the booking was made in my name, by someone claiming to have stayed as part of my group in the past.
Not sure whether this is some sort of joke, or was malicious, but the losers, had they not contacted me, would have been the lovely biker friendly family who always make us welcome at their bunkhouse. They could very easily have turned away real customers (2 bunkhouse rooms - 10 beds, and 30 camping pitches were booked
) on that weekend and that's just bang out of order.
Spoke in depth with the owner yesterday - this is not her getting confused - the person she spoke to had definitely said that they'd stayed as part of our group previously. I can't believe that anyone I've ridden with would misrepresent a booking like this.
I would appreciate a private pm (to go no further) if this is some sort of joke gone wrong. Failing that, I can only conclude that this is some form of malicious attempt to sour a good relationship between trail riders and the bunkhouse family.
Any thoughts ?
