Shite instructions,

I've removed the old screen bar, but the adjusting knobs are not playing ball.

Anybody who has this screen installed on their GSA care to give me a idea of where I've gone wrong.

Maybe I didn't put all the pieces back in the correct order and failed to document what goes where:confused:

Cheers

Hi

I removed an adventure screen to install a Givi on my 12 plate GS and had a similar problem.

The issue I had was that the adjusters would not tighten up fully even though all parts were present and correct. I found that I had to cut down the metal spacers by approx 10mm to allow the adjusters to work properly.

I think this is because the adventure spacers have to allow for the thickness of the screen support bar which is not present on the standard GS so the adjusters "nip up" before they bear on the screen location.

By the way some of the screen adjuster parts are "handed" - i.e. there are left hand and right hand specific parts. If you examine some of the parts they are marked L and R to indicate which side of the bike they fit [viewed from the saddle]

Mine fitted fine on an 08. The black plastic blocks are handed and top hat nuts face towards sliding slot. I did bend the bottom ends of the Givi supports to align better with the BMW screen support frame.

I did't use the GSA screen support bar (it was bent) but suspect the Givi won't fit with it.

Would it benefit me getting a standard GS Screen mounting kit? I guess it's a bit shorter?

Also how do u guys mount sat nav without GSA bar?

According to RealOEM the metal bush is the same part number - I understand the adjusters are only available as a kit of parts.
