Has anyone got one of these fitted to their panniers?
I'd be interested to know what you carry in the bottle?

Oil? Water? Petrol? Whiskey?
I was particularly interested to know whether you carried a petrol reserve to get you out of trouble?

Engine Oil in one, petrol in the other.

Though it was probably a close call not to put gearbox oil in one and bevel drive oil in the other

Oh and the bottle on the handlebars may look like juice but its actually something else altogther :monkeypiz

Has he got two??? I thought it was just the one. Silly me:(
I Suppose he has the petrol one on the exhaust side for a bit of pre-ignition and supercharging;)

Derek,

I mounted mine on the front of the right-hand pannier together with a fuel bottle for my cooker. There is still enough room for a pillion to use the footrest.

Neat idea Mike...
So what do you carry in the TT bottle?

I presume the cooker fuel bottle is held in place with the TT bottle container (consults TT catalogue  .. 070-0526)
What's the TT part number for the umbrella holder?:D

Absolut Vodka, 50% by vol. Doubles as cooker fuel or one litre puts a fizz in the GS!!!

(actually I carry oil. Thought it was prudent to take my own to Europe to avoid trying to work out what's what in Spanish, French etc.)

Derek, if you do get one, buy a couple of the straps as extras. It really needs three to make it secure and they are really useful for other things too. I used one to clamp the brake lever on the ferries and to secure odd bits and bobs.

Mike.

Gotterdammerung what make are your panniers TT? I've got a Black Adv (Faster than silver) :D like the look of your boxes to go on a black bike.

coloured panniers...

ask vern and civil. they can make panniers for you in any colour that you'd like.

cheers

They are TT Zega's the Sondersystem set.

After spotting Uncle Alberts Zegas done in a fetching shade of blue to match his bike I asked what the finish was.

It's a self-adhesive vinyl. The same stuff that's used for truck/van liveries.

It does tone the ali down a bit and happily it's pretty tough.

Really simple job to cover the boxes, the first one took me about two hours but the second ones took half that.

Mike.

cheers for that Mike got top box on order so when it arrives think i'll try your idea ready for the panniers in a few weeks time.

Andrew
