meanwhile.....back at the ranch ..... and for future reference:

Laugh Giraffe
Laugh in Bath
Laugh Turkish Bath

these are all Cockney Rhyming slang for having a laugh ...

pulling a soapy refers to:

Jefferson Randolph ("Soapy") Smith II (1860-July 8, 1898) He was an American con artist and gangster.

Just so you know

Soapy Smith - killed in a gunfight in Skagway, Alaska. Think there's a rock with an inscription to him on the trail to the Chilkoot Pass.

Al :D

BTW...if looning around the TT course on Mad Sunday isn't your bag you might enjoy this...

And I thought a soapy was a mamarian massage of the male genitalia.

Having a laugh, or ripping people off

Where's Frank Muir when you need him.

are we there yet!!!!

:aidan

Not quite ........ but nearly!

You KNOW its nearly TT from the bloody idiots trying to kill me in me car (with my child sitting next to me) coming round the bloody corner on MY side of the road! Bloody idiots! Jesus, Mary and Joseph!!!

This weather is sure as hell bringing out the nutters!

Bring on the REAL riders who KNOW how to race properly!

We're nearly there!

Just so you know - the BBQ's are all provided - so we should be fine (Dave and Chris) and a few coming - so lets hope it doesn't piss it down!! Food-wise - just bring a small amount - and then whatever people want to bring drinks-wise. We're making the ice at the minute and the fridge and cooler are ready for contributions:D. Loads of cans of alcoholic and non-alcoholic - so don't worry too much.

If it is raining on the day - just give me a bell but we will probably end up at The Mitre in KM - if that suits people. See how it goes.

So many bikes around including quite a few english-plate GS's. Wonder who they are?:D

Instructions on getting to our place:

Come into KM. Go to bank and turn down road by the side (Station Rd) - ride down to the end turn left into Shore Rd; ride along and turn right into Broogh Wyllin; then first left. We are first house on left with 650's in drive.

Please don't all park in our road - if you can park around the corner or on the way from the bank (about a 5 minute walk). The estate is bloody small and people get pissed off if too many cars/bikes. Thanks guys!

IoM TT. Help Wanted. Throttle Cables/Bodies

I am on the IoM for TT (from Denmark).

Throttle cables are at their limit.

I have been to BMW guy in Castletown and he is booked solid for the next few days.

I will be at Silly Moo's on Wednesday night.

I would like to adjust the cables but am a little nervous of doing this without any previous experience.......

Can anyone on the IoM help.

I only have temporary internet access therefore will not be able to use a response on the website; however I can be reached on the following mobile number

0045 51 38 82 49

Text or call.

You could email [email protected] as I can get these on my mobile.

Cheers

Mike

My mate, Robert, who is Dutch :D , will be at the party on Weds - he is staying in Glen Wyllin (rides a KTM ) VERY nice people and he does all of his own stuff - so will no doubt be able to help. I will call his g/f tonight to see if he can bring some tools up from their place for you.

Writing this here in case you drop in on line ---see you tomorrow. We're on regardless (rain forcast for am - not sure about pm)...... and don't worry about food! My mate George dropped in SO much food we could feed the 5000!! plenty of drink too ...but more always desired:D:D

See ya tomorrow guys! marshalling at Douglas Road corner for some of the day (esp the side cars in the afternoon) so just call if you need anything OK?

07624 225577. (edit - sorry I put the wrong std code on ---thanks DAVE me dear!)
