I dropped my Adv a couple of times onto solid rock. Guards deformed pretty badly but no damage to heads. (and no damage to mounting points)The look nice but I am not convinced they would do a great deal in the event of a spill

Stuck them in a vice and straightened them again for re use. I recommend them.
Sounds good.
I guess you'd want them to deform and take some of the energy out of the impact, otherwise all the force would be transmitted to the mountings on the expensive bits...
I'd also find out how much Stantons are compared to the TT ones - Personally I think their they're better..............
Steptoe was going to be doing a UK version, but I'm not sure where he's at.
I must say that compared to the ones Steptoe had made up.. those TT ones look very flimsy.
Having done the completely idiotic "trying to drive away with the disk lock still on" with an inevitable drop onto concrete I can confirm that Mr St Eptoe's guards do the job.
The alloy used is specified to have a degree of malleability and the castings are lined with hard rubber as a buffer against the rocker cover.
I think that they look better as well! This image was taken after the drop.
That's all very well, but if he hasn't made any more or hasn't any left to sell, it ain't gunna help oblertone.
Very true but is that the case? Even if it is, if enough people ask him he may commission another batch
The moulds are made now anyway.
Good idea.
If oblertone or someone rattles his cage, I'm sure their will be quite a few who wouldn't mind a set.
