Hi,
This has been asked before, but my search did not throw it up. The instructions do not say where the tie wraps fit to! I'm looking but not seeing. I know it is obvious but....

I had to trim some bits of the removable plastic surround that's on the bike now. Once taken off and TT guards offered up the cable tie positions become obvious.
Fiddly to fit but a decent product although powder coat has come away in a small area on mine maybe from stone impact so hopefully doing their job.

Jon

Thanks Jon. Ok, do they tie onto the tabs on the back of the plastic surround? If so they should not be seen when installed and fitted to the bike. I thought initially that they wrapped right around the side of the plastic surround!

I agree re the powdercoating on the TT ones, as it's very thin. I've had two sets, and both had chipped right through. My Altrider guards are much better.:thumb

Does the temperature gauge read the same with the Altrider guards fitted? I've narrowed my choice to Altrider or Touratech but unsure which to go for.

I would be interested to know why you have ruled out the Cymarc guards as i think they are great, no temperature issues and a good easy fit

Yep, no difference whatsoever.:thumb

Based on finish and how fiddly mine were to fit I would say forget the touratech ones. There was not as much choice when I bought mine.

The cymarc ones are good, i dont buy into this im doing you all a favour patter from mr hooton ( i know a family of sheet metal workers who are millionaires) , but the cymarc products are always good.

I just don't particularly like the look of them, I prefer the looks of the other two. So long as they all do the same job, are OK to fit etc., then it comes down to personal choice.

Do these tie wrap on, or use existing mounts to secure?

Me again. TT ones; do they tie wrap backwards to the frame? To the radiator itself? Hopefully not to the plastic surround. I know I am taking stupidity to a whole new level, but any way I look at this it does not seem a neat job. With 20/20 hindsight I would not go TT.

Great! I'll get these then. They look really good quality as well.

The ones shown above on mine are the black powdercoated ones , if you dont specify these you may get the unpainted ones, deoends which type you prefer, the unpainted were out of stock which is the main reason i got these, i got em from nippy normans.

As redrick said, an easy install, 10 minutes or so.

I like the black ones. They blend in better to the bike than the silver ones.
