If your talking about the small black/grey bag on the tail behind the seat?
It's a tool kit, can't see what use it would be for fuel?
May as well strap a small jerry can to a rack, or bolt a 1lrt bottle where the charcoal filter would have been.

Ok, not sure why you would? Loads of alternative solutions for fuel and tools.

It does look pretty thou :)

well found few better pics and can see better mounting points for it

more i cant afford 500 euro for X-tank

so was going head to breakers see if can find end can and convert to tank.

may even concider 2 end cans and weld 1 up to replace the stock muffler

just a thought,if you want to do something similar on the cheap have you considered an old fire extinguisher, already threaded on one end and made of steel so a lot easier for the home engineer to work with than alloy,be a bit heavy but you cant have it all ways .

heavy isnt the work be some weigth on alu sub

ah now home engineer i am not. aeronautical engineer i am, with a workshop complete with tig operator who will happily do some nixers on the side if give him hand wire his bike up

A fire extinguisher! Combining the smartest and stupidest ideas :)

Seriously If budget won't cover a hotrod or TT tank then just carry a spare fuel container, bolted/strapped somewhere and fill up manually on the trail or in the Sahara :)

The Ali sub frame will take a lot, after all it was designed for a 20stone German!

fair enough john,it just seemed to me from your previous posts that you wanted off the shelf items(with you posting wanted ads for bashplates/toolboxes/fueltanks).
if you have a willing tig welding chap and a workshop, whats holding you back?
there are plenty of really good solutions to your want list, get on with it and dont forget to post pics.mike:D
