hi have managed to get hold of a used twin headlight conversion from TT, but the headlights dip the wrong way. Does anyone know what lights i could fit into the their place so i can use it for the UK?

Gary
I have the TT kit on mine but it's the lenses that bend the light not the bulbs so you are stuffed I'm afraid. they don't make it for the UK . When I visit the UK I put tape over the lenses to avoid dazzling other road users. I don't know ahet else you can do except sell it to someone over here in Europe.
Good luck

Thanks.. I was hoping that a pair of 10cm lights would fit in the holes.
I could put tap on but didn't want to loose too much light.
any other ideas apart from sell them

You used to be able to get headlight beam deflectors from the AA. Instead of putting tape on the lens this was a bit if transparent plastic lens which diverted the beam . It was intended for UK drivers coming to the contintent but maybe they have one that works the other way around. It may be worth a try . I have never seen them over here but I'll have a look and see if there is such a thing here but don't hold your breath.....

Good luck.

Gary, by the time you get hold of some ten CM lights you have defeated the object of buying the touratech Jobbie. Sell it to someone in Europe. Then buy somelights and a sheet of aluminium and make your own.

Someone on this site did this last year (Gutsi maybe) so look it up and see how little money it cost him.

I have also the TT lights and to be honest they are better than the OE but not enough to make them worth buying. They do of course make the bike look nicer IMHO

I have not seen the lights in the flesh so I don't know how they are fabricated- however, is it not possible to rotate the lens in the fitting 180 degrees so that the beam is thrown to the other side of the road ?

That'd be too easy....the problem is the dip lens points right and down for the continent so if you turn it over it will point left and up....let's have another guinness and we can solve it I'm sure

I need at least a gallon before I get my thinking cap on properly :D
Sounds like something to think about tonight in the pub though ;)

.......see you down there in about 15 minutes then :beerjug:

I "Obtained" this unit very cheeply :-) so I want to make use of it.
probably for the same prices a piece of Alloy and time to cut out the holes....
For those who don't know how they are constructed...
The lights them selves are a reflector shaped as two lights (So the reflector unit is one piece, so I can't turn it around as suggested, with two single lenses stuck on, with twin light fittings making it look like twin lights. This is then sandwiched between two sheets of Alloy, so the front "black" painted sheet fits over the top of the lenses. so I recone if i can find two single lights and can fit them in the "sandwich"....

I'll let you know how I get on, I may have found a solution :-)

Have you got a picture ? I'm not sure if they are the same as mine. I can't show you a pic of mine until the weekend.

didn't those imported tichy 400cc sportbkes from Japan have 100mm dia lamps?? Or MZ Bagheeras? Must be a UK spec bike that had them as standard.

Try BAT motorcycles in Sarf London for Jap 400 spare parts.

I seem to remember that the Riders Manual contains instructions on changing the dipping side for the headlights. Would this not help?
