Being a distinct anti-fan of Moulded suitcase type panniers I intend to flog my standard Touring set and Givi type top box to fund the purchase of adventure style frames for my 1100

I would greatly appreciate any input regarding the pros and cons of different makes and models as I intend to use them primarily as mounting points onto which I can strap various combinations of tents, ammo boxes, jerry cans, Etc. Etc.

Cheers folks.

Google "holan" a polish company... Good product well priced loads of people on here use them.....

Also google Ard cases as I believe Roger can supply if you do not want to deal with Poland!!!

I've got the TT Street cases (?). Two 41l boxes which fit onto the standard pannier rails. You can still use the oe top box if you want.

Their only weak point is the lack of a cross-brace which tucks in behind the number plate. I made one up with a piece of 25x3 stainless and it works a treat.

I probably wouldn't do the Road of Bones with them but they are a really good size, waterproof, and sit on the bike really well without having to fit an extra subframe. You can also unlock and remove them without lifting the lids.

Thanks guys... The list of makers in the other thread seems to have everything I needed and I'm not too sure how I missed it as I remember seeing it once before?

Beginning to look like Hepco and Becker, as they're simple, they'll easily integrate with the H&B cage that's already fitted around the rest of the bike and their proximity to the rear peg support frames will make them simple to reinforce and even add strength to the subframe... (with a fat git like me, a big wife and luggage, it'll need all the help it can get!)

I use H&B panniers.....very pleased with them !

Cheers MB.

Do you have web link, or address for them?.... I can't seem to find anything online...

That's the one....

They look about the right size and quality... And I must say, their prices look good @ £575 per pair including frames and fitting kit!...

I may have to sell a Kidney! (I could get the rear rack and top box too then)
