Tuning chip on EBAY

Has anyone bought one of those tuning chip things from German ebay ?.
Do they work ?. If so, are they designed to run with a filter and can to richen the mixture etc ? They seem to go for about £50+

I've got the BBChip fitted to my 1100. It's a big improvement in performance and allows you to select alternative maps to suit your bikes hardware i.e. Remus pipe and K&N filter. The down side is you lose 30 to 40 miles per tankfull, I get around 170 miles from a tankfull with normal riding, but I've had as low as 140.
