I've been looking around for.....well, let's just say at this stage, for some information......

A standard Google search doesn't give much up, but I've just come across this site that I've thoroughly enjoyed.......

Hmmm..food for thought ;)

Nice link – I’ll read through it all at a later date though. Two questions for now…..

How much would a turbo set up cost?

How long would the gearbox last?

Certainly sounds very interesting.

How?
Explain to me why it is more fun I don't understand??.
The only reason I would consider Nitrous is for dragracing, and if you are into dragracing you could find a better bike than the GS.:moped:

About 2500-3000£. As far as I know you will not find anyone who produce a set for the GS.

I have put 8000 km on mine with turbo without problems so far . But in the long run it will break. It was not build for that power and torque.
The weakest point is actually the clutch. You need to replace it with a ceramic dito.

Nitrous is deffinately worth a try. I'm running 25bhp of nitrous on an 1100gs.Soon to try 50 bhp.:D Tried a ceramic clutch but wouldnt fit the 1100 without some machining. Ended up sending the ceramic clutch back and fitting a standard one.:(

perhaps they should carry the philosophy thru past the clutch into the gearbox and final drive ?? :)

Was that from Touratech? I thought it was designed for the 1100

Yes the clutch was from touratech, and yes i was under the impression that it was a straight fit. It definately isn't a straight fit.Nearly 300 quid for a part that wouldn't go on.. Not impressed:mad: Definately impressed with nitrous though. Wunderlich saw it and are looking into fitting it to their bike! It seems that the ceramic clutch is a couple of millimeters thicker than the standard plate. When its all bolted back together the pressure plate is already compressed and wont release.

The clutch fits if you use the included washers.
For the 1100 you should use both washers total 1.5mm according to the manual. If you don't use the washers you will have the problem you described.

Thanks, but there were no washers included in the kit i bought from touratech, and when I phoned them they never mentioned any washers either. All I received was the ceramic plate, no instructions or anything. When this clutch packs in I might try another ceramic one. Are they any good, worth the money ?
