Does anyone else find it a pain to have the turn signall cancel switch on the right side. Just when I want to accelerate (trying to keep up with Bakerman) I need to cancel the turn signal!

Why did BMW not put the cancel switch where the horn switch is and visa versa so to speak.

Has anyone out there modified the wiring so that the turn canel switch is the horn switch. Can it be done? It can't be that difficult can it??

Any advice???

Ian,

I've just looked at the wiring diagram for the 1100. Swapping the Brown and white wire to the Turn Signal Relay with the Brown and Yellow wire to the Horn Relay will swap over the operation of the Horn and Indicator Cancel. Since the Horn is controlled via a relay I would not imagine that there is an issue with the size of the switch contacts.

I don't know how easy it is to get at the wiring to modify them.

I swapped the wires over in the connector plugs in the fairing.(R100GS) could be the same on oil-heads. All works far more logically. I swapped the left turn with the horn. the right turn with the cancel. I now cancel simply by sticking my thumb out as I twist open the throttle. The horn is nearer my left thumb to.
