VFR1200X Highlander DCT with all the Honda luggage (not fitted).

I reckon it will cost me extra in depreciation versus a 12GS over the next 2-3 years but it was cheaper to buy in the first place and won't hit me with any unexpected big bills. Had the Guzzi for 4 years now and loved it , big decision but unfortunately that will have to go soon to fund the purchase. Due to a left knee injury I need the extra comfort of the dualsport. Will likely keep the Honda for a little less time and possibly look at a 2yr old Africa Twin in the future.

My early biking life in the mid eighties to late 90s was all Honda , MBX50, NS125F, VF400F, CBR600F, VFR750F, F6C. It's good to be back on one and if you bump into me you'll realise it's true...... you meet the nicest people on a Honda :P

That song was about wankin, wasn't it?

Nope, that's an urban myth but I see where you were trying to go with that:P

A quote from the band
" The Americans seemed to think it was written about that. That it was an English phrase about masturbation. It wasn't. The song was a love song about someone who had lost their girlfriend and was going slowly crazy -- turning Japanese is just all the cliches of our angst... turning into something you never expected to."

So no, the Vapors' song isn't about dick-whittling (masturbation/penis joke quota met). It's simply about a man who has taped hundreds of pictures of a woman he's obsessed with around his tiny room as he plots to see her insides, and whose emotions can apparently transform him into a Japanese man like the Incredible Hulk.

Perhaps a case of the truth being stranger than fiction, anyhoo - nice bike, enjoy it. The way my left hand is hurting (and likely to need an op to sort it soon) I might be looking at similar.....

Looks very good Rushy, keep us updated. Will you be doing any two up riding ,interested to know how much room, comfort there is for passenger.:thumby:

Hi Andrew, no two up riding for me nowadays. That's why in many ways it possibly a bit too big and heavy for what I really need but what the hell. I know a guy who does all his riding two up , big euro trips and all day fast blasts/ trips around Wales and he likes the stability and power of the Honda and his pillion is very happy with the comfort . He is a very , very quick rider too and is more than happy with the way it handles.
It might not be this year now but you are both more than welcome to have a go of her one day:thumb

Looks good Rushy! :thumb
Mark

Aye up stranger :thumb

That looks really good in that colour scheme, enjoy

Yeah that's what I thought when I saw it. I love the black look whereas most Highlanders have silver engine bars, chassis parts, spotlights etc. the Camo is all blacked out.
Must give a big up to Justin from this fine parish who advertised the bike on here . He has really looked after her. Cleaner than a clean thing with some tasteful extras. Justin hasn't used the hard luggage so that's as new. He even fitted a Givi rack instead of the Honda top case that comes with it so I've chucked on my old Givi for now. Will add a roll bag for weekend trips.

She is booked into Crewe Honda tomorrow ahead of schedule for her 8k service as a trip to Ireland is planned for the weekend after next:bounce1

Looks good that does....apart from that screen.......

I know what you mean. It's the Honda touring screen with the extension/spoiler thingy off an MRA vario arrached to it. It's a bit too tall for me so I may try the complete vario screen on it which I also have and see what that's like.

Looks like a clear day, bet you got a good view down the valley to Beddgelert. :dragon
