I spent quite a few hours yesterday trying to fit Twalcom auxiliary lights to my 1200gsa only to find that the brackets supplied - that should have been right for the 07 Adventure just did not fit - however I tried to mount them. Obviously I'm going to ring up Adventure Warehouse where I bought them to see if they can send the right ones - but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone else has had problems getting the right brackets for their particular bike and year. The brackets shown in the instructions (in helpful Italian) and on the website are different from eachother and from what I got sent, so there's obviously lots of slightly different brackets.

Any thoughts?
Michael

sounds like you have the wrong brackrets. i watched jono from ABW fit mine to 08 GS and they were on in moments. They are very helpful and the lights are brilliant. Sure they will sort it out.

Are they like this ?

no they are not. The bracket is much larger and triangular. There should be a link to a photo here:

I spent 4 hours working out how to remove the tank and beak etc. but there was no way what I had was going to fit. In the middle my friend's dog ate the page on my Haynes manual that tells you how to put the thing back together. So it was unsuccessful but good for the soul. At least next time it will be easy

Hi,

That bracket looks like it's for the GS not the GSA.

Regards,
John

Hooray! the right kit arrived yesterday. Thanks very much. It was obvious how to fit these just looking - and its all nearly done. Just one question: I plan to splice into the supply for the dipped beam headlight as I think you're meant to (the Italian instructions dont mean much to me). The only thing is I've changed both my headlights to HIDs. Can I still splice into the blue (presumably live) wire coming out of the back of the headlight? Or will the bike explode when I turn on the lights?
Michael

Aha. On looking through some threads here it seems its the parking light connector is the one to splice into. Now how do I find that.....?

The job's all done and they work. Some time I will have to put HIDs in them as they are not nearly as bright as the headlights - and they are hot.

there r not surpost to be as bright :comfort
as a head light will always be brighter :augie

glad you got the job done :D

also cheers to jonnywave for the pics
