Hi
The South East Section here on the forum had a little outing on Mothers day...
I posted a thread asking if the regular GS meet to the Ace Cafe would like to travel on mass.........
Well I got over twenty tossers turning up, most on either GS's, or Adventures- 1150's 1200's even had an air head..nice one Mike.
Anyway, we met at Newlands on the A25 at 10 am and we went over to Boxhill via the North Downs and back for a blast first.........some people have not ridden on roads like this...mainly single track -National speed limit, hairpin corners, fast straights and some challenging bumpy bends, all 23 miles of it!
The faces of some of the riders when they got back said it all........as for the pillions they loved it.
We all got back safe and sound, regrouped and then headed for the Ace cafe. Well this time we seemed to be all together doing great. M25 must have looked fantastic for those in their cages looking at over twenty tossers riding. Most of them had HID’s fitted so I’ll be off to the opticians soon as I was looking in my mirrors most of the time as I led the group.
I had Sat-Nav, but even with that and that fine virtual lady saying to me ‘keep right, take the next exit on the left’ . I kept left on the slip road and was leading twenty tossers to Birmingham. Well almost! Just in time Blues and Twos saved the day and raced in front to get me on the straight and narrow........
It sort of went to pot from their and I just followed Bluesandtwos ignoring my Garmin Princess.
We still arrived pretty much as a group and parked up all together.
The Ace was busy with the annual trike meet and we split up into small groups and did our own thing.
We then said our goodbyes and some of us headed back to Boxhill via the ‘Captain’s Nurburgring’ over the downs-this time taken a little bit faster than the morning.
A great run, lessons learnt and most behaved themselves....(someone did something very silly) you know who you are, please do not do that again when we are in a group, save it for the car park-on your own!
Well here are some pics, also check out the thread to see how it unfolded before we set off... it’s in the South East section.........Convoy to the Ace Cafe on the 2nd .... 3,700 hits and over 260 posts!
Thread link at the end of the pictures.......
And one for the boys............
The link if you have an hour to read it
