Twin cam or M8?

So; M8 is the way to go for a modern 2014+ V-twin tourer.

But now thinking about the Indian Roadmaster instead .

My cousin loves his GL1800 Wing Ding though and trying to persuade me likewise.

Sometimes choices are difficult when considering putting down £20K+ on a motorcycle for recreational use and the odd big tour.

And finally to end this note. My knees show bone-on-bone which doesn't help me with any choices at being 67 this month.

The Roadmaster is ok but the Pursuit or Challenger is SO much better with the liquid cooled Power Plus motor.

The handling defies belief given its looks . Stunning to ride

I agree with this, I test rode one and was really impressed. If I didn't have the G W, I would have one no problem.

I would have to ride one as they look massive .

They’re not when riding .
The c of g must be very low as the handling is incredible. You’d never think you could chuck it around like you can . And the motor is sublime .

And did you have issues with oil migration before it was fitted or was this just a precaution?

I bought my RKS sight unseen from a dealer in N.I. I actually asked the salesman a direct question as to whether it had suffered from the notorious oil migration issue on earlier bikes (mine is a 2018), and if so whether the HD vent fix had been done. He answered no to both. The first thing I did was check the gearbox oil level and it wasn't even on the dipstick! After a few sweary phone calls to said dealer I said either the gearbox is checked out properly or you can reimburse me and come and pick it up again. Cheltenham HD collected the bike, stripped the 'box, found no issues whatever (other than a very low oil level), they then supplied and fitted the vent and the supplying dealer picked up the tab and gave me a 18 month warranty on the gearbox in writing. I fitted the clutch pushrod from Macomb County choppers as an extra precaution.
When in use I check the level weekly and since the work has been done on it it hasn't lost a drop.:thumb

I had no issue with oil migration for 18000 miles…….then boooooooooom!

I’m glad everyone found a workable solution, as with most things Harley, the answer to reliability lies in the aftermarket parts.

Pretty much sums up the Motorcycle Industry today I think!

I have decided . Well, not really but, it will be either the last of the 103" Ultra limited or the first 107" models. Which is around 2015-16.
Plenty with low mileage around as the old gang members have upgraded to the 114".
I mostly tour alone for convenience to rallies or abroad meeting people along the way.

I prefer A & B roads except getting to the ferry ports.

To buy online, there is Autotrader and MCN that I know of.
