I hope this is in the right section, if not then I'm sure a Mod will move it for me :D

Ok, so I bought a set of these for the GS which has two wires, so a straight forward fit.

They are very loud, so I thought I'd upgrade the car horn, however, the car only has one wire, so a 12 volt feed from the horn push I assume, so my question is, will these work if I connect the second terminal to earth/chassis/battery negative terminal??

Your advice is very much appreciated.

Yes just connect the second connection to the chassis as you said. A loop from the terminal to the mounting screw will do nicely assuming it's bolted to metal.

If you have a multi meter check the one wire is positive Some horn pushes switch the earth

In which case I would have a constant 12v supply to the horn??

And therefore I assume that those horns will be no good?

No I have misled you sorry Just read your post again If the original horn is connected to the chassis then the one wire will be live only when horn button is pushed The horn button will switch a relay most likely

Ok. thanks. I will check the feed for 12v when horn is pushed, and go from there.
Thanks chaps :thumby::thumby:
