HELP - TWIN SPARK & RESALE PRICES

Hi - I gave up trying to post a new thread tonight as I failed for 30-minutes.

MY QUESTION IS :

What difference ( if any ) does anyone feel arises with resale prices, over twin or single spark ?
I realise as I actually type this it's not a ' black and white ' question or answer, in some respects.
To keep it as simple as possible....at around spec' changeover time, of 2002/3 ( I believe ) does anyone notice any resale price differences in for sale adverts ?
I understand that both models did not run as new supply spec's for any period of time
I appreciate there may also be a factor that potential purchasers prefer ( or not ) twin to single spark.

Maybe another question might be better :

I've read all the stuff on this forum, and appilied some common sense and automotive ic engine experience and I ....' don't give a shxx ' if single or twin. Given a choice I'd go for single ( BEST reason I read was faster to empty water out of barrels with 2-holes !!!!)

I'm about to purchase a 1150GSA and then sell it again in 6-months having played off-road on it.
The one I fancy is single spark.
My wonder is will that have any potential effect on my ability to re-sell it ?
it may not trouble me to buy it and use it....but may put potential next buyers off.

I can buy a single or twin....for a likely cost between £5K and £6.5K for various 2002 to 2005 models.
What I want to do is sell it again for not too much less, having had some use from it

I'm rambling....is the single/twin spark issue a noticeable issue with buyers ?????????

Bloody hell, that's a weird kind of question ...........and deserves this smile :roll :roll :roll :roll
:rolleyes::agree:agree
and this one too......:clap:agree :mmmm:rolleyes::agree

I have never heard of anyone who has particularly wanted the twin spark or the single spark, or heard about either spec being a deal breaker.

There are plenty who will argue about whether it's worth having ABS or not - with or without servo.

I don't think the twin spark attracts a higher price - with most 1150s now being 5 years+ old, mileage, condition, history and number of toys all count for far more.

thanks pint7x
that makes sense
as i'm using those criteria to arrive at my purchase price i'm relaxed that my eventual sale price will not be a dumb one and the ' whole life cost ' will have been acceptable to me for my period of ownership and use

Mainly brought out for emssions reasons just costs more for servicing and new second coils whwn they go wrong. Just somthing else to wrong, stick to single sparks and NO BRAKE SERVO's.

Again - my 2003 1150GS has never had any problems with the twin spark heads or the ABS Servos in 20,000 miles

I should hope not!! As:

a) It's only 20,000 miles which is nuffink, and b) It's not a 1200.

Or just buy a BSA Bantam and don't bother with expensive technology.

I bought a 12/2002 gsa single spark on recomendation from the mechanic who does my work. He is independant BMW ,only works on bmw's He said hed seen to many twin spark problems, so had a bias , and he gets bikes with issues- not to say plenty of twin spark owners have trouble free bikes. I bought it on his word-plus he told me its a sweet bike which it is!:thumb
