Got myself a Twinmax but the tubes are too wide to fit over the vacuum nipples on the throttle bodies.

In the box there's a few brass nipples (oh... er...). Is it just a matter to somehow unscrewing the OEM ones and replacing them with these brass ones? If you how do you unscrew the OEM ones? Pliers, vise grips????

what is your bike?

if i remember correctly twinmax tubes are 8mm. you can buy an extension tube of 6mm, then cut it in two and force it in twinmax tubes and tb nipples
costless

Wot Kostats says:thumb2

Don't, under any circumstances, attack your TB's with vice grips :eek

I got a bit of plastic tube in my Twinmax box which works as an adapter to reduce the diameter to fit - it was in the titchy ziploc bag with the other adapters. I cut it into four so that I wouldn't lose it all at once - I have three bits left.

twinmax is not for oilheads and bmw only, it can help synchronise most motorcycles with injectors or carburators and these extra nipples are fitted directly where a screw is unscrewed under the carburator

Right, I think I'll get some tube to narrow it down.

From what I can see the Twinmax rubber hose is O.D.: 9mm, I.D.: 6mm and the brass nipple on the throttle body is 5mm.

So to narrow it down, what size hose should I get? O.D.: 7mm, I.D.: 4mm to ensure snug fits?

I presume any old hose would do? I think DIY manometers are made from aquarium hose.

I used to own a Twinmax. Bought it myself when I was in USA. Funny thing, these are made in France, then shipped to USA, then back to Europe :)

Anyway, 4mm ID of a hose should do ;)

I now use a clear hose with oil inside it and get the same effect as the Twinmax :)
