Two .25 Automatic pistols.

Springfield do a range of striker fired pistols with a grip safety (similar to a 1911)

I had a S&W M&P9 but never really got on with it, just had the safety on the trigger, like a Glock

I got rid of it and bought a Beretta M9A1 in its place, a much older design but it has a proper safety and a de-cocker, I’m much happier with the metal gun :nod

I owned one of these for a while, pretty little thing but painful to shoot more than a dozen rounds

I know the New Jersey State Police used P7M8's for a while but switched some time ago. Washing DC Park police used them as well, in fact they ordered 97 with phosphate finish. HK US brought 100 in and one of the HK US employees in VA purchased one of the 3 overrun. Some years later I bought it from him still new in the box, 1 of only 3 in private hands. 9-10 years someone contacted me wanting it. I refused but he was persistent and offered "pick whatever new pistol you want and we'll trade". I did but I'm not sure I should have.....

I heard some company (I guess in Mexico) made some modified P7s for the Mexican police or military, the modification was a manual safety of all things.

P7Pro in Texas has been offering some modernized versions but I'm not sure how many they're selling? I don't hear much discussion about them.

Yes it's a very accurate pistol with its excellent fixed barrel but they do get hot after 4-5 magazines.

You carried one, were you a policeman?

I worked for a chap in the US (Richmond VA) between 88-90 and he basically said "if you work for me you need a gun, cos everyone else has one!" the whole place was wall to wall guns

In total I've been around guns for 50 years

competitive shooter
worked in and around guns for dealers and manufacturers in EU/ UK
brought together collections for international clients
coached celebs in shooting for a couple of years
worked for film, theatre and TV

You've had quite an interesting career with guns, Loiq!

By chance you haven't worked with Alec Baldwin have you?

:)

reading the reports that came out of the case against the armourer on that production, I'm amazed they only managed to shoot two people. The lady incharge appears to have been out of her depth. With zero if any processess in place to safeguard crew and talent onset.

As for the technical aspect of Mr. Baldwin Claims to have happened... it's impossible to do that with a single action revolver of that type

Yep to both. Sadly, complete incompetence by the "armorer" and Alec caused the death of that young camera girl.

since the death on set of Brandon Lee, the process employed is a manual check to clear the barrel and cylinders on revolvers. As for having live rounds on set, it's kinda asking for trouble..

but hell what do I know :)

it costs money to work with professionals, cos it costs more to work with amateurs.

right I have job tomorrow so must get myself squared away.

By all accounts from what I have read in the media, our trigger-happy movie star is not an easy guy to get on with or work for.

plenty of anti gun, millionaire movie stars happy to take substantial fees... depicting themselves with guns, while spouting in public nobody should have guns... while they have armed protection teams in the US.

it must be good to have these principals, with enough moral flexibility to take the money cos it's only a job...

I haven't worked with Mr. Baldwin but I have worked with a few who proved exceptionally difficult.

In the UK there's plenty of Actors who are prohibited people who shouldn't be allowed to touch a gun which includes movie/ prop guns and I have to baby sit them and stand between everyone in the production and the onset police who turn up in some extreme cases.

That's Alec.
He openly spouts and posts "guns are evil, no one should have a gun, gun's cause murder, robberies, repeal the 2nd amendment,,,," posting stuff like: "I wonder how it must feel to wrongfully kill someone..." after a police officer kills a suspect after struggling in a convenience store parking lot.

Then he doesn't even have the guts to admit fault, instead lying that he did not pull the trigger.

It was a mistake for me to even mention Baldwin, sorry.

well his troubles are not yet over, there will be more civil cases, crew that may never work again and lawyers that'll take anyone's money. The 1st AD who handed him the gun (which he should never have touched, had he followed a process that's there for a reason) the list goes on... whatever money Mr. Baldwin has made or the years he'll payout in lawyers and settlements.

the incident was totally avoidable, the chain of events that lead them all there... was pretty easy to see if you saw the BTS footage (behind the scenes) continous VT.

hard to argue what happened...
