BMW will relieve you of £20 if you want the fob. It's a piss take.
Why do you think it should be free? £20 seems quite reasonable to me.
You still paid for it with the hexhead...fob was included in the price

Paul coming from this short arse, I've spec d it with the bike and getting charged for it![]()

Yes, I will get the low seat for free... so to speak. The low seat is free if you spec it with the bike BUT if you want the high seat, you have to pay extra for itwork that one out. Maybe the BMW accountants are all short-arses?
'Seat height reduction' as BMW call it is chargeable but the 'riders low seat' on its own is a free option when you spec the bike. Have you been charged, correctly, for the first option or ripped off on the second?

A lot of new vehicles have various functions controlled by the ECU. They can be changed to suit. I have experienced a new vehicle where the Dealer has put what they consider to be the best settings for door locking etc in the ECU before delivery. It's worth asking the dealer what can be changed.
And the alarm is the same price on the LC as it was on the twin cam, so why should it now be a £20 option to have a fob?![]()

You and me both. Still waiting, but dealer told me today after their chase it up it is on the move. Fingers crossed for the weekend. Be checking out the "rain" mode fully, if that's the case![]()
has ordained that I'm away at the weekend visiting her relatives so Mon/Tue for me if it shows on time.Have checked with my my dealer today and after a conversation with Bracknell told me that NO keyfob is available. Alarm can be disabled by putting in 'shipping mode' from menu. That's it.
Also Akro's are waiting to be homologated before dispatch from factory. Could easy be 3-4 weeks plus, so don't hold yer breath Nutty.
My bike due at dealer tomo - I hope - after it's mystery detour to check the modifications.

The dealers are all saying different things!
If you have an alarm fitted and it annoys you so much you disable it, then the bike gets nicked and the insurer won't pay. Neat !
Don't have an alarm, bike is nicked and the insurer can't wriggle out of it.
I think I'll save my £205 (or my £16,000 if you get my drift)
BTW I never armed the alarm on any of my last three BMWs never realising I was compromising my insurance.
I remember a few years ago Ride magazine set up a test as how Joe public would react to seeing motorbikes being stolen. Was sort of bike in car overlooked by various offices. Burly guys would turn up and stick scaffolding poles through the wheels and bundle the bike into a white transit as the alarm was sounding on the bike. No body around bothered their shirt tail. No calls to the police nothing. One guy who was passing asked what they were doing to be told that they were repossessing the bike for a finance company. In short even if you have an alarm fitted and it sounds when your bike is being stolen it will be of bugger all use unless someone reacts to it
As I mentioned earlier, I'd spend my money on a GPS tracker (as I have on my incoming camper van)
Totally disagree. The alarm is invaluable if only to stop passers-by tampering with your bike, even sit on it, and risk dropping it, as happened to mine several times. On a few occasions I ran to the window at the sound of the alarm to see teenagers running away.Alarm?
Who needs one?
The single most useless thing to ever fit to a bike, save your money![]()
