Tyre choice 1200 GSA

Hi

Need new tyres on my bike.... Only bought bikr yesterday and the dealer will put a new set on

Want something sticky, confidence inspuring and good in the wet. If i am realistic i am an 98% road rider so off road ability isnt a factor

What are you guys using and what would you recommend?

mich pilot road 3,amazing performance in the wet and damp,i had lots of different tyres on 1200's and this is a remarkable difference in feel and confidence,miles better than my previous tourance exp's.

Dunlop TR91 from Tyretectrading £173.50 delivered and a very good tyre. Dual compound so it should last for a reasonable amount miles. Second only to the PR3 as a road tyre but that will cost you £220 plus a set. If you go for the PR3 make sure its the one for the trail bikes as that version has got a bit broader hard compound in the centre. I think it's marked 'TL'. To be honest there is not a bad tyre for the GS, just personal preference. I'm trying them all and so far I like the TR91, don't like the Tourance EXP.

I had the PR3"s on mz triumph sprint st - didnt have it long enugh to find out though - didnt realise they were available on this bike....

my mate has the conti trail attack on his standard GS - was thinking about this one too....

Saw they rave about the Bridgestone Battlewing in Bike magazine

Anakee 2's are very good on the GSA and look the part - I can recommend them as a dual use tyre. Just put Pilot Road 3's on my winter hack, but haven't had a decent chance to really try them out yet. If they're any good, I'll be putting them on the GSA now that they do a 19" front (despite what their website says).

My choice for all road riding is Dunlop Roadsmarts. When the present set wear out I'm hoping to fit the new Roadsmart II's. They are great in the wet & dry, the only problem being I wear the rear out in 5K miles but then that is largely self inflicted!

Saw a report in the current bike mag

They reckon this may take slightly longer to introduce..... Looks a good one though....

For now, i reckon i am gonna go with the pr3's and see how they fair up!

For road riding, I would go with Conti Road Attacks.

It's a purely road tyre but gives lots of grip. Last pair I bought were £175.

I was getting 6K from a rear and double that from a front.
