looking for a new front tyre for the bike i discovered that the one i am running at the moment has been superceeded (?),on there at the moment is an avon venom 120/70/21 62h ,the new tyre choice is an avon cobra 120/70/21 .62h.
now im a bit anal retentive when it comes to certain(most) things and i dont like mixing tyre tread patterns,i would have prefered to go with the same tread pattern match as the back ,but after speaking to the guy i normally get my tyres from he assures me that the new pattern is ok to match the back and its not necessary to buy a pair .
to be honest i rarley get above 75 mph so anything will do to be honest ,

I thought that OE pattern Dunlops were the tyre of choice for the American iron.

A Cobra has Venom so you should be ok :D

About 20 years ago I had a Heritage that was fitted with Avon Gangsters

I believe the Avon site says you can mix the two (but check to be on the safe side). However the new Cobra is stickier than the Venom and, as it's the front, that would seem fine to me.

To be honest you're not exactly going to push the performance envelope on an HD (unless you are trying to maximise the miles with a squared off rear for some reason?)
