could anyone tell me the best tyres for an 1100gs. I'm looking at conti twinduros or tourances at the moment but I'm not sure at all cause I've just bought the bike.

Hi Craig
There's a sticky on this very subject here. Of the tyres I've run on my 1150GS, I'd rate Road Attacks for the road, just above Tourances (good for a bit of rough stuff); TKC80s for road/mud grip, if a bit squirmy in the bends - also for being the best looking and better than they say for longevity (but not very stable at speeds above 95mph) and finally T66s, OK but most people dislike the wet weather performance.

Enjoy!

looked at your'e link after I replied. Brilliant help thanks for that.

TKC's are sh!t in the wet. I've run them most of this year and they're fantastic in the dry and obviously allow you to do more exploring than a road biased tyre.
Recently changed them for conti trail attack's for road work through the winter (can't see me doing much trail riding on the GS over winter).
The trail attacks are superb:thumb2
Unless you plan to go off-road I wouldn't bother with TKC's
I'm after another set of wheels for the TKC's as I'll be running them again next year but they don't last long if you do a lot of comuting or are heavy on the throttle. Sliding round in the wet on knobblies can be fun when you're in the mood but at 7am after a 12hr nightshift it's just a pain in the ar$e, sometimes literally:D

Tired of Choice

Personaly I've found that the best compromise is to get the knobbliest tyres you can find and then cut some of the knobbles off with a sharp knife as per Burt Munro. It allows me to perform incredible feats of high speed cornering as shown.
